Australian Surf Movie Festival Announces 2011 Tour: Walkabout The 2011 tour is scheduled to hit NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, WA and TAS running from February to March '11. The lineup is filled with films that convey a passion for travel and exploration partnered with organic live Australian music. CoastalWatch's filmmaking contributor Tim Bonython, has been on walkabout with some of Australia's foremost Indigenous surfers capturing swell, adventure and discovery. This unique journey combined with additional hand picked surf films and Australian musicians make up the extraordinary blend of elements that is the Australian Surf Movie Festival's 9thannual event. With raw creative undertones and the Walkabout theme, the 2011 tour promises to stimulate the desire to explore.In the spirit of discovery, ASMF 2011 presents a multifaceted evening incorporating journey's to Mexico, Hawaii and of course all around Australia. Inclusive of projects from the visually stimulating mosaic of Tim Bonython's footage collected from the last year on the road, the latest hot off the press footage from Hawaii and the mind blowing "Who is J.O.B." that just took 3 Surfer Poll Awards, ASMF incorporates a classic roster of household surf names such as Taylor Steele, Matt Hoy, Ry Crake and Jamie O' Brien. Hosted by ideally distinctive venues, ASMF 2011 offers a fine balance for the festivalgoer's experience with live performances by Laura Hill for all South Australia showings. As Tim Bonython Productions has always been a strong supporter of surfing associated not-for-profits, ASMF 2011 has dedicated support to Surfrider Foundation Australia and SurfAid International. In addition to an invigorating evening of surf adventure and tunes, ASMF as is the tradition, will be giving away surf gear door prizes at every event.
