Recipe 🥟 Nepali Veg Momo Recipe ✨ Ingredients For the Dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida) 1/2 tsp salt Water (as needed) 1 tsp oil (optional, for softer dough) For the Filling: 1 cup finely chopped cabbage 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 1/2 cup grated carrot 1/4 cup finely chopped spring onions 1/2 cup crumbled paneer (optional) 1 tbsp soy sauce(optional) 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1 tbsp MOMO Masala 1/2 tsp coriander powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp oil 👩‍🍳 Instructions 1. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft but firm dough. Cover and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. 2. Prepare the Filling: Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few seconds. Add onion and sauté until slightly translucent. Add cabbage, carrot, and spring onion. Stir-fry for 3–5 minutes. Add soy sauce, pepper, cumin, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well. Turn off the heat and let it cool completely. 3. Assemble the Momos: Roll out small balls from the dough into thin circles. Place a spoonful of filling in the center. Fold and pleat into your preferred momo shape (half-moon, round, or twist). 4. Cook the Momos: Steaming: Steam in a momo steamer for 10–12 minutes or until the wrapper turns shiny and translucent. Pan-fry (optional): For Kothey-style, pan-fry the momos with a little oil until crispy on the bottom. 🥣 Serving Suggestions: Serve hot with tomato achar, momo ko jhol, or chutney.
