'We're here in solidarity': Protesters take to streets over George Floyd's death

Hundreds rallied in Milwaukee to denounce the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and other acts of police misconduct across the country. Most demonstrations remained peaceful during the daylight hours. At a prayer vigil at Washington Park, a crowd of about 300 listened to gospel music, Bible verses and speeches. Among them was Wendy Painter of Greenfield. Near the District 5 Police Station, a march organized by several church leaders kicked off in the shadow of a boarded-up mobile phone store that was vandalized.
