Russian fans party in streets of Moscow after 2nd World Cup match victory

(20 Jun 2018) Thousands of Muscovites and fans held a street party in central Moscow, celebrating Russia's win against Egypt on Tuesday evening. After the 3-1 result, roads were held up with lines of cars carrying flag-waving fans and streams of fans headed towards Moscow's central square. Football chants, singing and car horns could be heard early into the morning. "(I have) indescribable feelings," said Russian fan Elena.  "On the one hand, we didn't expect it, but on the other hand we had faith." "It's a historical date. This happens only once in ten years, last time something like this happened was in 2008," Alexander Mitayev told the Associated Press. "We will tell our children about this date because our national team has never come out of the group stages."
