July 27th marks the 64th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice Agreement, but it looks like North Korea may use the occasion to test fire another ballistic missile, according to sources in Seoul and Washington. An unnamed government official told South Korea's Yonhap News that they have detected movement of a mobile missile launcher in North Korea. They said they remain alert as there could be a launch at any time, but that it's most likely to happen sometime around the Armistice anniversary. This is corroborated by reports coming from the U.S. CNN quoted an anonymous U.S. Defense official on Tuesday who said that transporter vehicles carrying ballistic missile launching equipment were spotted arriving in Kusong on Friday. This, they said, is usually followed by a launch within six-days,... which would coincide with the anniversary on Thursday. A prolonged excursion of a North Korean Romeo-class submarine in the East Sea has also put Seoul and Washington on edge. It has been detected out at sea for over a week, leading to various sources speculating that it may also be preparing for a submarine launched ballistic missile test.
