Set in an alternate Los Angeles where "supers" and "normies" coexist, players step into the shoes of Robert Robertson III (voiced by Aaron Paul), a power-less hero known as Mecha Man whose mechanical suit is destroyed in a trap set by his nemesis, Shroud. Down on his luck and forced into retirement, Robert takes a job at the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN) to fund his suit's repairs. He is tasked with managing the "Z-Team," a group of reformed supervillains—including the stealthy Invisigal and the eccentric Waterboy—who are seeking redemption through community service and low-level heroics. The gameplay blends choice-driven storytelling with strategic management and light puzzle-solving. As a dispatcher, you navigate a wireframe map of the city, fielding real-time distress calls that range from stopping bank robberies to rescuing cats. Success depends on matching the right hero to the task based on their unique stats, power sets, and fluctuating moods, all while managing ability cooldowns. Between missions, the game features Telltale-style dialogue choices and hacking minigames that drive the narrative forward. Since its release on October 22, 2025, for PC and PS5 (with Switch ports coming in early 2026), DISPATCH has received near-universal acclaim.
