Mount Rainier in the Clouds | White River Roars | Washington State

Today's journey centered around Naches Peak loop trail. You might ask where the videos are of that! Well, I usually plan for a multitude of conditions, but fog is not one of them! The snow-covered Naches Peak trail was covered in thick fog for the entire journey! Needless to say, I didn't capture any "view" scenes! None to be had! In my desire to see the mountain I went to the White River Campground after the Naches Peak hike! Here's a few scenes to behold from the White River Campground and surrounding trails. The White River is ever raging! Mount Rainier is ever majestic even when cloud covered! A journey here never disappoints! The views to behold and terrain to explore are endless! Notes from previous journeys: You can find the Emmons Glacier trailhead in the White River Campground, just down the road from the Sunrise entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. There is a parking lot for hikers and climbers on the left side of the road just inside the campground. The Emmons Moraine Trail starts at the Glacier Basin Trailhead on the west end of the campground (Loop D). The new trail travels above the old one and has a slightly steeper incline – not quite as easy as it was. For the Emmons Moraine, take a left at the junction about a mile in and continue along the moraine for another half a mile. (The Glacier Basin Trail continues on 2.2 mi. from the junction.) The hike is about an hour round trip, but you will linger much longer. #mountains #nature #river
