Presper Eckert and Dr. John Mauchly and their team in from 1944 to 1946 at the Moore School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania. ENIAC was the first general purpose, programmable, large scale digital computer in the U.S. A top secret program during the 1940's, it first ran in 1945, and was publicly announced in February 1946, 80 years ago this month!
