The Jaecoo J7 PHEV has singlehandedly driven down the cost of entry to owning a PHEV by a huge margin, priced about a few thousand Ringgit over the AWD variant of the standard non-electrified J7. However, its claim of being able to cover 1,200km on a single tank did seem rather fantastical. So, to prove it could be done, we take a long, fairly slow, but very fuel efficient drive across 3 countries to see if this RM159k plug-in hybrid game-changer lives up to its own hype.
