There are alterations as they are passed down, but families continue to proudly celebrate the festivals. Most of the Indian Festivals coincide with harvest season. There is a significance behind every prescribed ritual performed in each festival. Not just the ritual but the delicacies prepared are equally significant. So there is some science behind why the festival is celebrated the way it is.
