Alan Little’s York City side finally got back to winning ways with a rather unexpected win at Turf Moor against Burnley. It was a fine performance against the Clarets as City took home all three points and deservedly so with a late Scott Jordan thunderbolt. New signing David Rush has handed his debut by manager Alan Little replacing Richard Cresswell. This match also saw the end of Tim Clarke’s brief spell as City’s number one keeper, loaned out to Scunthorpe United later in the month, and replaced by Andy Warrington. Also recalled to the side was Neil Tolson and the ex-Bradford City striker strolled through an absent Burnley defence to score the opening goal after a great through ball from Andy McMillan. It was Tolson’s first goal since mid-November and a welcome relief to see him back on the scoresheet. Burnley equalised before half-time when Nigel Gleghorn profited from a goalmouth scramble to fire into the roof of the net. But right at the death York took home the points when the ball fell to Scott Jordan on the edge of the box, who then lashed the ball into the top corner much to the delight of the travelling fans behind the goal. York City: Warrington, McMillan, Murty, Bushell, Sharples, Barras, Pouton, Jordan, Tolson, Rush, Himsworth. Attendance: 8,961 Footage from ITV Sport Re-edited and Remastered by Phil Howden
