Yadnya is a very unique instrument and a technique. Till the time this technique was available to the world and specially to Indians, the atmosphere was pure and natural and the people too had Shri Rama Himself is listening to the song sung by his two sons, Kusha and Lava. The Yadnya-holy fire was taking place, and lectures, songs, music, giving food to all are part of the yadnya celebrations. Yadnya is not just the offerings of rice etc and burning wood. While this technique was still well known and prevalent, until that time there was a lot of prosperity on our planet and specially in India. The atmosphere became pure and clear, and this was reflected in the thoughts of the people which were also un-tainted and pure, Goddess Laxmi was pleased and there was prosperity on earth. This was the intricate mechanism of yadnya and at this moment, Kusha and Lava are singing the glories of Shri Rama’s character and charisma, unaware that the King Himself is their father! Nowadays, whether there is yadnya or any other celebrations, huge speakers emit loud noise in the form of music that has no relation to the occasion. Here it has been described how the music and songs are to be presented. The song, the words need to be such that all the nine rasas- emotional expressions of human beings are experienced by the audience. The notes of Lava-Kusha are so melodious and divine, it is as if the emotions are pouring out in abundance. When one sings in tune, in India it is termed as sur and also used as synonym for Gods, when one is out of tune it is a-sur, not in tune and the same word asur is used to describe demons. This yadnya celebration is an invitation for all the artists to come forward and give their best performance so that the general public can experience and take the benefit. It is like a divine integration of the music and the nine rasas- emotions such that the joy experienced by the audience is as if they are showered with positive vibrations like one would experience upon taking dip in the holy water at a pilgrimage place. Shri Rama , is hearing his own praise, and his own image as if is reflected in the mirror! Shri Rama is seeing as his entire life story unfold with all his achievements and feats in front of his eyes. And Shri Rama being the avatar – incarnation of Vishnu Himself, all his actions –karma were so perfect, there was no lacuna. All his actions reflected a perfect balance and mastery, to put these into words was a difficult task indeed. What we do is that we always have a tendency to exaggerate and add enough salt and spices to any news. Like people announce loud that they would donate one lakh un-conditionally but whne the time comes to actually give, there put so many conditions and almost half the declared amount is given. What Shri Rama did in his entire life is described here in ditto, his sons are not putting any extra spice, no exaggeration. Like we say that the sons are ten steps ahead of their father, here too the praise sung by them is so melodious and unique, it is as if they surpassed Shri Rama Himself in singing his glory. Nowadays , when there is lockdown, when the classes are taken by the teachers and all students can join in and learning continues on-line, we realise that yes the generation today has gone much ahead of those who were students fifty years ago.
