When a woman gives birth, she does not give birth to “a body” and then later meet the person. She gives birth to someone. The child is already a person from the first moment of life. The child Mary conceived and gave birth to is one Person. That one Person is the eternal Son of God. So if Mary is the mother of Jesus, and Jesus is God, then Mary is rightly called Mother of God. She is mother of a Person, not just a body.
