December's State Policy Hangout: Uber, Lyft, and Ridesharing Regulation

Uber, Lyft, and other ridesharing services have often faced strong opposition from local governments and competitive interests, such as city taxi authorities. While most major cities have slowly allowed these services to operate, others have pursued more aggressive action, ranging from price floors on fares to steep fines and even threats of arrest. With strong emotions on both sides of the debate, what does the future of regulation look like for ridesharing services in the states? Are there current or proposed regulations that can bridge the gap between entrenched interest and entrepreneurship? Is ridesharing a zero sum game for consumers? Join us for a discussion of these and related issues at this month’s State Policy Hangout.   Please join us Thursday, December 4th, at 3 PM for a live online discussion featuring:   John Kartch, Director of Communications, Americans for Tax Reform Jacob Huebert, Senior Attorney at the Liberty Justice Center, Illinois Policy Institute Matthew Feeney, Policy Analyst, Cato Institute   Questions?
