Though we celebrate the 70s this week in The Crew 2, our featured car here is actually from the very late 60s...like 1969. Still, the Mustang Boss 429 is a 70s Legend, from its design to its monstrous torquey engine. Running through Brooklyn in this classic will be a treat! Top Speed: Average Acceleration: Above Average Nitrous: Average Cornering Speed: Average Handling: grippy, but a bit heavier and less agile as its Carroll Shelby equivalent, the GT500, though still manageable. The massive amount of low-end torque is partly to blame for the times in which it oversteers if you're not careful, but for the most part, it's more of a balanced car handling wise, rather than grippy muscle like the GT500. Pro Settings tweaks will help decrease oversteer as well increase grip and aero, as much as it can at least. Performance: as mentioned earlier, low-end torque is responsible for any excess wheelspin or oversteer. For the most part though, the Boss's acceleration is very strong. After gear 4, the car has enough traction to most of its power down, especially with its nitrous engaged where it'll completely out run the GT500 on any straight. Conclusion: Not the newest best Classic Muscle. That honor still belongs to the Camaro RS and its surprising agility. The Boss does prove itself to be a better classic Mustang than the GT500 though, so we'll have to see if it's the new best Mustang later on as we pit it against the Mustang GTs and the GT500s of today. Still, not a bad effort from what I think is the best looking Mustang.
