50 years campaigning against drink driving

2014 marks the 50th year of anti-drink drive campaigns. The first public information film aired in 1964, was set in an office Christmas party and politely reminded people that “four single whiskeys and the risk of accident can be twice as great... If he’s been drinking, don’t let him drive.” Since then attitudes to drink driving have changed dramatically – for instance, now we call for drivers to have “none for the road”.
