Philae Temple, near Aswan, is a remarkable construction and located in Lake Nasser, Nubia. The complex was dismantled and relocated to nearby Agilkia Island during a UNESCO project because of the construction of the Aswan Dam. Philae is one of the burying-places of Osiris, was held in high reverence both by the Egyptians to the north and the Nubians to the south. It was deemed profane for any but priests to dwell there and was accordingly sequestered and denominated "the Unapproachable". It is known to have been constructed by the Ptolemies, but may have had a much earlier foundation. In the late 1800s several giant skeletons were unearthed, one of them being over 11 feet tall. In one of the temples it shows a depiction of the god of the Nile, Hapi, that has a striking resemblance to monument 19 at the Olmec site of La Venta in Mexico, that is described by symbolist Jj Ainsworth in the video, and may prove a connection between these two great cultures. The site also housed some remarkable Obelisks, one of them now in London at Dorset House. The video features contributions from Hugh Newman, Jim Vieira, Jj Ainsworth and Yousef Awyan.
