MTA BMT WE Line: Last Day Of Train Action Before CI Flood Protection Work At Bay 50 St: (09/17/2021)

Friday, 09/17/2021, at around 3-4 PM ish, this is some MTA New York City Subway train action on the BMT West End Line in Brooklyn at the Bay 50th Street Station on the LAST DAY before the start of flood protection work near the Coney Island Yard. This mostly features the Westinghouse R68 fleet type on the (D) line, an R160 being moved out of Coney Island Yard is noticeable heading northbound doing a Not In Service move somewhere, starting off deadheading on the BMT West End Line’s express track. Due to flood protection work from the night of Friday, 09/17/2021, until January of 2022, (D) train service has been suspended in Brooklyn between the Bay 50th Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Stations. Alternative service is provided by buses in the nearby areas of each station, or also whenever possible, the (D) train meets the (N) train in Brooklyn at the 62nd Street-New Utrecht Avenue Station complex. The 62nd Street-New Utrecht Avenue Station complex on the (D) and (N) lines also has elevators inside the station so transferring there is also wheelchair accessible. Flood protection work through the Coney Island Yard previously happened on the (N) line from Fall of 2019 to Spring of 2020, which caused (N) trains to use the 86th Street Station in Gravesend as a southern terminal in Brooklyn.
