Living in the Spirit: Facing Opposition in Christ's Name Scripture Readings: Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17; Matthew 10:24-39 There’s a strong word from Jesus today in Matthew’s Gospel that reminds us there’s a cost to discipleship. Following Jesus for real in our world isn’t easy, and we will face resistance and challenges. The gospel calls us to step out of our comfort zones. That’s been very true for Peace Lutheran Church as we are taking steps on the journey toward racial justice, grounded in a commitment to anti-racism, guided by our Future Directions. As we seek to live as faithful followers, it is good to remember Jesus’ words, “Even the hairs of your head are all counted.
