Repairing Bike Shift Cable Housing

Patching up a spot on my mountain bike’s shifting cable where the housing had worn through. Likely this occurred due to the added pressure from a very full handle bar bag that I used for several months of biking. This quick and dirty fix with electrical tape to keep out dirt and grime from the shifting cable (and prevent it from expanding) I don’t expect to last super long but it is lasting so far (updates will follow here). And the ease and cheapness of the fix means that I could redo the repair as long as it lasts a reasonable amount of time. Filmed mid July 2021.
