GLENS FALLS - Students are spending 28 straight hours dancing for charity.Students from South Glens Falls High School hosted the 36th Annual South High Marathon Dance in the South Glens Falls High School Gym starting Friday, and ends 28 hours later on Saturday.The dance, which started in 1978 raised money for various charitable organizations, has grown into a community event that has even opened up to vendors, 50/50 drawings, silent auctions, and a hair cutting booth.The Grand Finale includes awards, and performances with prepared costumes.These all night marathons have raised over $3.15 million dollars over the past 35 years and have benefited groups such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, numerous scholarship funds, and local groups like the community center and fire departments.
