Reeling under the "7 Days of Rage”, Kenya is witnessing a turbulent time as demonstrations that were first prompted by proposed tax increases, have become more intense. Thousands of protesters stormed parliament in Nairobi to vehemently oppose the tax measures, resulting in violent clashes. Fatal confrontations between demonstrators and police near Nairobi's parliament building resulted in the deaths of at least five protestors. Parts of the parliament were set on fire amidst clouds of tear gas and gunfire.
