Evacuation orders in place for parts of Sydney as severe weather warning issued

NSW SES Assistant Commissioner Dean Storey says there are a number of evacuation orders in place across areas in southwest Sydney. “It’s a very dynamic and dangerous weather situation we’re currently experiencing. That’s set to continue through the rest of today, overnight, and to tomorrow,” he told Sky News Australia. He advises people to avoid unnecessary travel and stay out of floodwaters. “Be aware, remain vigilant, monitor those local forecasts and conditions and always listen to the advice and heed those warnings from the SES and other local authorities.”
