Extraordinary footage shows salmons battling against the upstream to cross the road

A dashcam footage has emerged of salmon crossing a flooded road in the north Olympia in the United States of America. The footage shows the extraordinary moment a run of salmons battled against the upstream on a flooded road. The traffic was brought to a standstill due to the flooded roads that led the drivers to catch a glimpse of the extraordinary and rare event from inside their vehicles. The video was said to have been spotted and captured by a person named Diana Kannenberg on Sunday. Despite the fast flowing stream of water, countless salmons that seem determined to cross the road are seen leaping in the air and forcing themselves to the other side of the road. In the video, the fish can be struggling through the firm roads fighting the upstream water to cross on the other side as the people stop their vehicles to watch the extraordinary spectacle. Salmons are usually born in the fresh water, they stay for almost 2 years in the freshwater before moving into the sea. After growing considerably in size, they then return to the same freshwater where they were born using chemical cues and battle their way upstream to the spawning areas. The effort of returning and fighting for territory and digging nests in the gravel wears them out so much that they usually die after spawning.
