Empty Vessels 2 Kings 4:1-7 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves." So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil." Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from eve where, from all your neighbors-empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones." So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased. Then stie came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest." 1.GOD IS NOT LIMITED BY YOUR LIMITATIONS! All she had was a SMALL jar of Olive Oil" Job 36:22-24. "God's rower is unlimited. He needs no teachers to guide or correct him. Others have praised God for what he has done, so jo n with them." Be very careful that you don't allow TRAGEDY to change your THEOLOGY! 2.Don't focus on what you have lost, Focus on what you have left! What you lost is PAINFUL, What you have left is POWERFUL! Elisha never focused on what she lost, he only asked her, What do You Have? God uses what you have, to get you what you don't have! God can do more when Surrender what's left. Ephesians 3:20 AMP "Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think. (infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us," 3. if there's VESSELS, there's OIL! Every vessel represents a HEART, and the OIL is the HOLY SPIRIT. GOD WANTS TO FILL YOUR HEART! 4. God exposed PUBLICLY what was first done PRIVATELY! God starts with what you have. What flows at home? She started Pouring! Prayer and Praise! The prophet left OIL at homie! He left the earth but left them with OIL! Act's 2:1-4 "When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to "hem tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately]."
