(3 Apr 1998) T/I 10:11:28 US envoy Dennis Ross met in Jerusalem Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid growing impatience in Washington with his refusal of American proposals for a further Israeli troop pullback from the West Bank. Ross met with Netanyahu and later with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for the third time in as many days to push the US ideas, even as Netanyahu's government bristled at the American pressure. A dozen Jewish extremists set up tents on the construction site of the planned Jewish settlement at Har Homa in east Jerusalem on Sunday in a protest demanding that the new neighborhood be completed. Hundreds of Palestinians meanwhile took to the streets of Gaza to mark the 22nd anniversary of their Land Day.
