Retired teacher Marcia Reece has been named the recipient of the inaugural St. Michael North Heroes Award. Ms. Reece, who taught for 46 years, 41 of which were spent at the Eden Lodge Primary School, was recognised for her dedication to the teaching profession and youth development. Member of Parliament for St. Michael North, Davidson Ishmael, said the idea for the award stemmed from a realisation that many people in communities do tremendous work, but are not recognised for it. Meanwhile, Ms. Reece says she's humbled to have been selected for the award.
