feelings of my emptiness - we the people (1967)

1967 i still see your vision distinctly in my mind. we the people (also known as american zoo) hail from la crescenta, california, with members bill bottrell on guitar, bill hawkins on bass, dave danieli on keyboard, and jasun martz on drums. they are not to be mistaken with the band of the same name from orlando, florida, of 'my brother the man' fame (that's what i am!). this is the a-side of "for no one to see" on reena records. they also had another single, "backstreet thoughts/who am i?" on the same label and even their own posthumous LP called visions of time: complete recordings. they were accidentally billed as "the people" on this single which probably pissed them off pretty bad. anyway, the second i heard this song, i fell in love with it. it's hard not to become attached to garage songs that aren't about lying girls, as much as i love those, too!
