2021 PRE 75 BRITISH GRASSTRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

This has got to be one of the very best Pre 75 Championships ever held. Run by the Vintage Motorcycle Club, this was the biggest meeting they have ever held, and run at the Victory Fields track at Ashorne, the racing was very competitive on these older machines. In the 500cc Solo class we saw 2 top class riders return to the sport for this event. Former quick 350cc rider Ricky Scarboro, and top class Harland Cook, but would either of them prevail up against some hardened veterans of the class? Graeme Brown, Tim Curnock, and John Underwood should all be in the mix. The 350cc Solo's sees the defending champion and multi winner of many titles in the Pre 75 & Upright classes Chris Mackett having another go at winning yet another British title. Chris has some very strong opposition in this years championship though, in the form of Wayne Broadhurst, Mike Dowling, John Shipley, Harland Cook, John Cox, Martin Adams, and Luke Tuck, so if he was to retain his title he would have to be at the top of his game. Phil Ranson is another defending champion back to try and keep hold of his title. He to would have to perform to his very best to do so, as he has Giles Dismore, Roger Taylor, Chris Mackett, Luke Tuck, Graeme Brown, Karl Bedingfield, and the young Sam Norris all after that 250cc Solo championship. Absolutely cracking action in all these classes, and trying to pick the winner through the heats was difficult enough, so the Finals would be even harder. The Open Solo event had a strong favourite in Luke Harris. He would prove very hard to beat in this class, unless his machinery let him down. Also in support for the main event were the Youth Juniors and a very tough and closely fought Intermediate class. Plus the Old & New Sidecars. A cracking days racing, with some spectacular action.
