FIRST READING ~ 2 Kings 5:14-17 RESPONSORIAL PSALM ~ Psalm 97:1-4, Resp: v.2 SECOND READING ~ 2 Timothy 2:8-13 GOSPEL READING ~ Luke 17:11-19 Today’s readings invite us to cultivate a spirit of gratitude. In the gospel reading, although ten lepers were healed, only one returned to express gratitude to God and Jesus proclaimed him saved! Saying “thank you” to God enhances our faith. Saying “thank you” to others recognizes the good works done by them and it has the power to encourage them and affirm our love for them. Lastly, a grateful heart helps us to remember the blessings we have received from God and from others.
