Christchurch mosque attacks: Gunman's sentencing to begin on Aug 24

A sentencing date has been set for the man responsible for New Zealand's worst act of terrorism. 51 worshippers at mosques in Christchurch were killed during Friday prayers in March 2019. The 29-year-old gunman will learn his fate on Aug 24. Justice Cameron Mander said the hearing is likely to last three days. The sentencing had to be delayed because families and victims based overseas have been unable to return to New Zealand due to COVID-19 border restrictions.
