This is a quick, one-pot (or one-tawa) meal that is bursting with spicy flavors, buttery texture, and crunchy vegetables. If you have leftover rice and want to turn it into something extraordinary, this Tawa Pulao recipe is exactly what you need. It tastes just like the ones served on the busy streets of Mumbai! In this video, I’ll share: • The secret to getting that bright red street-style color without artificial dyes. • How to keep the rice grains separate and fluffy. • The perfect ratio of Pav Bhaji masala for that authentic kick. 🛒 Ingredients List: • Rice: 2 cups cooked Basmati rice (cooled) • Vegetables: 1 finely chopped Onion, 2 Tomatoes, 1 Capsicum, ½ cup boiled Peas, and 1 boiled Potato (cubed). • Base: 2 tbsp Butter, 1 tbsp Oil, 1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera). • Aromatics: 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste, 2 green chilies. • Spices: 2 tbsp Pav Bhaji Masala, 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder, ½ tsp Turmeric, Salt to taste. • Garnish: Fresh Coriander leaves and a squeeze of Lemon juice. 👨‍🍳 Quick Instructions: 1. Heat butter and oil in a large flat tawa or pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. 2. Sauté onions until translucent, then add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. 3. Add capsicum and tomatoes; cook until the tomatoes turn mushy. 4. Stir in the boiled peas and potatoes. 5. Add all the dry spices (the Pav Bhaji masala is the star here!) and a splash of water to prevent burning. 6. Gently toss in the cooked rice. Mix well until every grain is coated with the masala. 7. Finish with plenty of fresh coriander and lemon juice. Serve hot with chilled Raita!
