Finally finished this game’s main quest after 5 months (since April 2025) of playing offline, juggling between different games. I still haven’t beaten Bahamut and Yuffie’s DLC yet, but that’s on my next list. That said, I think I have a love–hate relationship with this game. I was hesitant to buy it at first, ever since the PC release in 2021, because I didn’t like the change from turn-based to more action gameplay. I also felt the materia builds, equipment, accessories, summons, and skills were kind of useless in this remake—so I didn’t really enjoy the battle system. Especially the filler battles, including the final boss fight, which felt unnecessary to me. In my opinion, the last boss should have been the robot on the highway. That motorcycle battle was epic. Now, what I do love about this game is the graphics and the depiction of Midgar—especially Wall Market, Aerith’s home, and Shinra HQ. I loved walking around town, talking to NPCs, and just exploring. They really succeeded in visualizing the Midgar we always dreamed of. That’s why I decided to play offline—so I could take my time, complete quests slowly, and enjoy the city. For what it’s worth, I still think this is one of the best games I’ve played. But honestly, I don’t think I’ll be buying Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. #ffviiremakeintergrade #gaming #gameplay #nocomentary
