3 Northern Arizona frat members arrested after apparent hazing death

A neighborhood used to weekend fraternity parties is left stunned after an 18-year-old Northern Arizona University student died during a rush event at an off-campus Delta Tau Delta house. Elton Wallace has lived in the area for more than six decades. He said he was shocked to wake up Saturday morning and find detectives investigating the duplex where the fraternity regularly held parties. “Friday night, we didn’t know what was going on. We just sleep and then Saturday morning we wake up and see detectives down there,” Wallace said. “It is, it’s just really strange.” Three 20-year-old fraternity members were arrested in connection with the death: Carter Eslick, Ryan Creech and Riley Cass. All are in fraternity leadership and face hazing-related charges. Authorities said the three have since been released.
