Fix broken microwave step by step

Monday morning I realized my microwave wasn’t working. I then tested the main fuse and thermal fuses, the three micro switches, the transformer, the rectifier (high voltage diode) the capacitor, and the magnetron. Everything tested out fine. So it was going to be a gamble to throw money at this old machine. I was afraid the circuit board was the issue, however, everything seemed to function properly with the exception of the machine heating. After gathering as much information as possible from various online sources, it appeared that the magnetron often tested okay but was in fact bad. So I purchased a new magnetron and ultimately, that solved the issue.
