Have you ever wondered how you would tackle #painting a night time scene in #watercolour ? Extreme darks are difficult to achieve and often turn out wishy-washy. It is possible though, as I demonstrate in my take on it. I opted for using neutral tint for the really dark areas and used light red and rose madder mixed with neutral tint in varying strengths for the lighter tones. The only other paint used was white gouache. It's not a watercolour for the purists, as there is very little transparency, but it has quite an impact (well, I think so).
