Prince Rama Varma - A Centenary Tribute to Varadadasa Sri M.D.Ramanathan at The Madras Music Academy

Prince Rama Varma gave a brilliant lecture at the Madras Music Academy in December 2022, to celebrate the birth centenary of his Biggest Hero, Varadadasa Sri M.D.Ramanathan. The auditorium was packed and they had to put extra chairs not just in the aisles, but also in the hall outside the auditorium! The lecture was a revelation in many ways, both for people who were familiar with M.D.Ramanathan or Varma ji and for those who were unfamiliar with either of them. Deeply personal, deceptively informal, profoundly insightful and sprinkled with flashes of Varma ji's delightful and spontaneous sense of humour, this turned out to be one of the best presentations Ever! Despite Varma ji continuing to be mostly publicity shy and not opening accounts in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on, the video of this amazing lecture, uploaded by The Madras Music Academy on their youtube channel, has already entered the Top 20 most viewed videos and deservedly so, because it is hard to stop with just one round of viewing, when there are so many takeaways from a presentation like this.
