Bells Brilliant bronze and relay stars boost GB medals haul

Team GB's Georgia Bell, a 30-year-old cyber security worker, clinched a sensational bronze medal in the women's 1500m final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Bell set a new British record of 3:52.56, over four seconds faster than her previous best, in her Olympic debut.Kenya's Faith Kipyegon won gold with an Olympic record time of 3:51.29, securing her third consecutive 1500m title. Australian Jessica Hull took silver.Bell's achievement is remarkable given she took a five-year break from athletics in her mid-20s before returning to the sport after taking part in local "Parkrun" events. She has improved rapidly since early 2024, crediting her coach Trevor Painter who also guided Keely Hodgkinson to 800m gold.As part of the celebrations at the Stade de France, Bell was able to ring the Olympic bell that has been installed at the stadium. Only gold medalists are afforded this honor, which will see the bell moved to Notre-Dame Cathedral after the Games to be rung during mass and prayer services
