Red Rider Ships on HQ Vinyl with Lyrics in Description

Track 6 from their second album “As Far As Siam” released in 1981 copyright Capitol Records. It was recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders in L.A. with two songs added from earlier Toronto sessions. The band had refined their sound and written their best collection of songs. The single “Lunatic Fringe” was inspired by the increase in reports of anti-Semitism Tom Cochrane noticed during the late ‘70’s. When John Lennon was assassinated in late 1980, it convinced him to release the song as a single, against the advice of the band’s record company. They didn't think it was commercial enough but it was played regularly on the newly-launched MTV and album-oriented FM radio and became their most popular song. The album reached No. 65 on the Billboard chart. Recorded in HQ format from the original vinyl. Written by Tom Cochrane and produced by Richard Landis & Michael James Jackson. Featuring: Tom Cochrane – Lead vocals & rhythm guitars Ken Greer – Lead, rhythm & pedal steel guitars, organ, piano & background vocals Peter Boynton – Piano, synthesizers, organ & background vocals Jeff Jones – Bass & background vocals Rob Baker – Drums, percussion & harmonica Special Guests: Kim Green – Rhythm guitar & keyboards George Doering – Acoustic guitar Peter Wolf – Synthesizers Jai Winding – Keyboards Tom Sowell – Theremin Steve Foreman – Percussion Charlie Calello – String arrangement on “Ships” Hey, how are you? Well, it's been such a long time How ya been? Well, you're lookin' just fine like the day we met Was that '78, funny how quickly we forget Ships that pass in the night Changing signals, see the light and they're gone They're gone You're standin' there, we both struggle for things to say Like we're strangers, well, I guess we are anyway (Ships that pass in the night) (Changing signals, see the light and they're) (Ships that pass in the night) (Changing signals, see the light and they're gone) They're gone Funny how little we knew to love each other Oh, when all the time we both thought that we were lovers But for awhile, oh, good times we had I remember how we'd walk down by the bay And talk about tomorrow, now tomorrow is yesterday (Ships that pass in the night) (Changing signals, see the light and they're) (Ships that pass in the night) (Changing signals, see the light and they're) (Ships that pass in the night) (Changing signals, see the light and they're gone) (They're gone) Get to know her, oh-oh, know your lover Get to know her, oh-oh, know your lover (Ships that pass in the night) get to know her My-my-my-my-my, know your lover (Ships that pass in the night) get to know her 'fore it's too late (Ships that pass in the night) get to know her, know your lover (Ships that pass in the night) get to know her
