Sure, it's a January horror movie, but "Primate" is a lot better than you might expect. This gory and suspenseful thriller is about a family whose brilliant pet chimpanzee, Ben (played in performance capture by Miguel Torres Umba), goes on a homicidal rampage after a rabid mongoose bite. Directed by Johannes Roberts ("47 Meters Down"), who co-wrote the script with Ernest Riera. Starring Johnny Sequoyah, Troy Kotsur, Victoria Wyant, Jessica Alexander and Benjamin Cheng.
