A nice shiny class leading rebuilt unit trails on the work train to refill propane switch heaters! Canadian National Railway locomotives 8837 (EMD SD70M-2), and 3300 (ex CN 2641 rebuilt AC44C6M) lead work train CN 903 (Moncton, NB Gordon Yard to Edmundston, NB?) slowly westbound taking the siding at Lutesville East to wait for a late VIA 14 on an overcast, drizzly afternoon. Work train 903 with one flatcar with a generator, and two propane tankers are heading up the Napadogan Subdivision to refill the propane tanks used for the power switches and switch heaters. CN 3300 is the first of fifty rebuilt C44-9W units which CN is rebuilding into AC traction units and upgraded electronic systems on the units originally built in the 1990s. The work is being done at Wabtec's facility in Fort Worth, Texas. CN is also planning on rebuilding some of it's EMD SD75Is into AC units in the next couple years.
