Here, we find out how to make a classic aviation cocktail. Filip, a mixologist from San Francisco shares his expertise on making the mixed drink. This cocktail is popular variation of the Gin Sour. For the aviation cocktail you'll need, creme de violette, maraschino liqueur, gin and lemon juice. Start by pouring a quarter ounce creme de violette in a shaker. It adds depth and color to the classic cocktail. Next, comes a quarter ounce of maraschino liqueur. It's made from Marasca cherry, which is grown in coastal Croatia. After the liqueur, add three quarter ounces of lemon juice. Finally, add one and half ounces of gin to make the aviation cocktail. The next step is filling your shaker with ice and shaking to combine for about 15 seconds. Strain the mixed drink into a cocktail glass. The beautiful color of this mixed drink doubles as the garnish for this cocktail.
