Global Vipassana Pagoda | The Story Behind | Origins, Architecture | Baba The Explorer

📍The Global Vipassana Pagoda, located in Borivali, Mumbai, is one of the best modern marvels I've seen recently. Not even kidding, this monument is PRETTY HUGE. I'm still fascinated by how the architects built this amazing structure. As part of exploring for @baba.the.explorer page, I researched and found some amazing things about the structure. Here they are: ➡️ The structure is built to last for thousands of years. ➡️ Constructed using a combination of ancient Indian and modern technologies. ➡️ Built out of gratitude to Lord Gautam Buddha. ➡️ Declared “One of the seven wonders of Maharashtra" by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with the news channel ABP Majha. ➡️ Construction started in 1997 and ended a decade later, with the inauguration in 2009. ➡️ Features traditional Burmese design to honor Myanmar's role in preserving Vipassana meditation. ➡️ The dome houses the real bone relics of Gautam Buddha. ➡️ A popular destination for Vipassana practitioners, accommodating 8,000 people in its meditation center. ➡️ Offers free 10-day Vipassana meditation courses.
