Topic: Balancing contrast in an image Photographing darker and lighter subjects together can get tricky. If you expose for the darker subject, the lighter subject is overexposed (too bright). If you expose for the lighter subject, the darker subject is underexposed (too dark). The key is to balance the exposure and then slightly underexpose the image. In this episode, you will learn how to balance contrast to achieve proper exposure for both lighter and darker subjects. About Vanelli: Vanelli is a working sports and portrait photographer, Director of Education for Luminar, and author who has created videos for LinkedIn Learn, written hundreds of articles, taught at major photography conferences and developed many photography and digital workflow programs.
