Hi, I’m Ryder — a 1-year-old Shih Tzu x Shepherd mix (born October 18, 2024). I was adopted in November 2025, and I’m loving my new home and my wonderful family. I’m about 40 lbs, with the intelligence and sensitivity of a Shepherd, the fluffy coat of a Shih Tzu, and the general size of a large corgi. I’m a happy, spunky, extremely people-focused dog. I absolutely love meeting new people and saying hello. I’m great with kids, and sometimes I get so excited that I try to climb into laps because I just can’t contain my joy. I do tend to whine when I’m unsure, hungry, need to go outside for a potty break, or when I spot squirrels in the backyard. I get really excited when I run into other dogs during walks, too. And yes… I do chase squirrels — not to scare them, but because I want them to play with me! They never do, which makes me a little sad (and a little whiny). Happy to meet you all!
