The Psychological Impact of Covid-19 on Frontline Healthcare Workers

UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems, Virtual Symposium on Friday 5th March 2021 where we discussed the pressing issues for healthcare professionals on the frontline. Professor Fiona McNicholas is a Consultant Child & Adolescent psychiatrist working in Paediatric Liaison Psychiatry in Children’s Health Ireland. She is recipient of a number of grants and has published widely, many in the area of self-harm, suicide, stigma, the Mental Health care needs of families and providers, especially during COVID-19. Her current work involves examining stress and Burn out in professionals working with children both clinically and in other capacities, such as police and teachers. She uses novel research methodologies including Action Research to gather evidence to support best practice
