I got a vintage, solid-state, McIntosh preamplifier, model C28, for a great price and gave it a quick refurb/resto/repair. I compared it to my Audio Research LS15 preamp, which uses tubes. I measured the frequency response of the C28. I can understand why people like the C28, but I can also understand why some people say Audio Research is better than McIntosh. In the end, the McIntosh C28 is not what I want. Referral link for PSVANE vacuum tubes: https://psvane.co/?ref=%40Lancaster_H... Coupon code for 5% off: STEPHENLANCASTE
