Sitka, Alaska - The Cruise Port That Completely Surprised Us

Sitka completely surprised us and it might be our favorite port on our Virgin Voyages Alaska cruise. We walked through Sitka National Historic Park to get to the Alaska Raptor Center. The raptor center itself was incredible. Eagles, falcons, hawks, owls, and more. If you've never heard an eagle call you should definitely watch. On the way back through the park we slowed down to really enjoy it. We heard eagles, saw huge totem poles and found a rock beach with mountain views. Back in downtown we wandered through shops, stepped inside the Russian Orthodox Church, made a quick stop for crab before boarding the ship.
