Fun with gold weapons! Gameplay for the original Ratchet & Clank. It's as wonderful now as it was then, oozes personality and its humour, characters & dialogs elevate it to heights the newer games can't reach. But what is Ratchet & Clank 1? A platformer with some combat and puzzle elements to it. The controls are fine and there's weight to them, the slingshot handles like a dream, and the combat was built around the lack strafing which makes it satisfying enough. Every weapon feels like its own thing and the gold versions are beasts! Clank's got a few levels as well, and they're surprisingly fun. Giant Clank is cool and mighty. The story is the cherry on top and it's fun to watch as it develops, its got a great deal of humour and conflight, character growth and personality.
