Two handed drawing practice - when I first discovered I could do it...Wabi sabi #119

First full video of drawing with both hands at once. Enjoy! What is the WABI SABI Series... I had started a series of drawings that I called my "Wabi Sabi" series. It was after 100 drawings that I started to get bored and decided I would try to draw with my left hand. You see, I was originally a lefty. My sister had taught me to write before I started school, but my kindergarten teacher didn't like how I held my pencil so I was forced to switch hands. Eventually forgetting that I was a lefty until I found a notebook with a note from that teacher stating, "Jessica is left handed but holds pencil incorrectly so switching to right." Now I am grateful for that teacher because it allowed both sides of my brain to be trained. However, I didn't try to draw with my left hand again until the wabi sabi series. It was too slow to work with so I just didn't give it a go. But, at 39 years old I though, why not. I was able to draw 15 of the wabi sabi series with my left hand before I had the idea to draw with both hands at the same time. I think it was after watch Star Trek, Next Generation. Data was doing a painting with both hands at the same time so I thought... I wonder if I can draw with both hands at the same time? Well, it worked. At first, it gave me a headache to do this for more than 20 minutes at a time. It is not easy to watch what both hands are doing PLUS my left hand still needs a lot of attention to make it do what I want. Now, I am able to work for hours while drawing in this way...although some days work better than others. This is the very first time doing it...the videos get much better as I get more practice (not only in the drawing but in the video making). I hope you enjoy watching this oddity in action. ................................. Jessica Tookey is an Artistic Channel and Intuitive Guide.
